Selling

How are estimates determined?+

Our specialists evaluate each property based on artist or maker, provenance, condition, rarity, market demand, and comparable sales.

What happens after I submit my item?+

If your property is identified as suited for sale in the current market, our specialists will reach out to you unfailingly with the next steps.

Who sets the price of my artwork?+

Artists and vendors have input on pricing, while Astraea provides valuation guidance to support market consistency and collector confidence.

Artists

As an artist, can I sell my own art?+

Yes. Artists can submit their own work once it has gone through Astraea's evaluation and approval process.

Do you accept artists from all countries?+

Astraea currently focuses on African artists and African cultural assets, with submissions reviewed by the team before listing.

What image standards do artists need to follow?+

Submitted images should be clear, high-resolution, well-lit, and show the artwork from the required angles. Astraea may request reshoots before approval.

Buyers & Collectors

How do I know an item is authentic?+

Astraea reviews listings before publication and may require documentation, provenance, authentication details, or additional verification for high-value items.

Can I buy artworks and collectibles directly?+

Yes. Available items can be purchased directly through the buy section, while auction items follow the auction process when auctions are live.

How does shipping work after checkout?+

After payment is confirmed, Astraea coordinates pickup, condition checks, packaging, dispatch, and tracking. Local and international timelines may vary.

Can I save items before buying?+
